Summer Reading Club registration opens on June 11th!
Tuesday June 11
We are excited to announce that registration is open from June 11th for the Kimberley Library Summer Reading Club!
The BC Summer Reading Club is a free literacy program designed to engage school-aged children, ages 5-12, with libraries and reading, throughout the summer. We strive to do so in a way that is fun, educational, inclusive and community-oriented.
The exciting theme this year is called a “World of Curiosities” and our Children and Youth Programmer, Ryan V, will be offering weekly stories and activities full of fun and creativity!
This year’s sub-themes are:
- Mysterious Creatures – either real animals or mythical/imaginary
- Depths of the Earth – rocks, volcanoes, and deep time
- Precious Mysteries – magic and mysteries
- Natural Curiosities – plants and nature
- Works of Art – arts and crafts
- Beyond Our World – space and exploration
- Collections and Memories – show-and-tell, ephemera and personal collections
More details on the weekly program will be available soon. In the meantime, if you would like to find out more about the Summer Reading Club, follow this link:
