Circling the Edge – listening to the whispers of the wild soul

Wilma’s fundamentalist Scottish upbringing turned her into a wild chameleon doomed for hell. Craving for something she could not name, she defied cultural expectations, travelled the world, competed with men in the mountains, embraced teaching and motherhood. In time, wispy recollections scurried across the underbelly of her mind demanding she unravel her inner world, journey from her head to her heart, and grow past her limitations. With authenticity and vulnerability, she weaves captivating stories that draw the reader into a turbulent adventure of loss and love.

Her compelling memoir will resonate with readers who seek self-discovery and forge past their limitations as they explore the winding path of their life experiences. It was birthed in challenging times and forged to reflect women’s resilience. Wilma is excited to share it.

Wilma G. Rubens has decades of experience as a facilitator, coach, and author. Educated at Edinburgh University, she found her passion in facilitating Conflict Resolution, Parent Education, Stress Management and Writing workshops. Her stories are grounded in her extensive travels to Afghanistan, India, Oman, New Zealand, and Australia. She followed her heart to Canmore, Alberta with its vibrant arts and writing community. Her writings have appeared in Australian and Canadian Magazines. She plays in the mountains most days.

Review “What an amazing story and honest soul searching read. The early travels were incredible but the struggle for an authentic self is what ultimately inspired and captivated.”

Dr. Nellie Radomsky, Author – Lost Voices: Women, Chronic Pain and Abuse.
