Accidental Bear Spray Discharge

Update – Friday, October 25th

On Wednesday, October 23, around 3 PM, an accidental discharge of bear spray occurred in the children’s area. While no serious injuries occurred, the incident caused discomfort to patrons, staff, and volunteers who were present. As a precaution, we promptly evacuated the library and contacted the fire department for assessment.

Upon further investigation, we found that the bear spray affected furnishings, shelves, and books in that section. To ensure safety and thorough restoration, we have decided to keep the library closed until emergency restoration services can assess and address the situation.

We apologize for any inconvenience this closure may cause. Rest assured, we are working diligently to resolve the matter and reopen as soon as possible. We’ll keep you updated as we learn more.

Thank you for your ongoing support and patience.
